Hi, I’m Rachel. I’m originally from North Wales, but I’ve called Malaga, Spain home for almost 9 years now. I left the UK in 2015 to become an English teacher abroad and travel the world. Since becoming an English language teacher, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to spend some time teaching in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, and Greece. Since making the move to working online in 2020 (yes, THAT 2020), I’ve taken advantage of the freedom remote working offers and have continued travelling all over the world.

My solo travelling journey started at 21 when I completed my study abroad. It was scary to get on the plane alone (alone + my 2 huge suitcases) but it was one of the best experiences. It gave me a test for travel and the confidence to see the world on my own.

As of May 2024, I’ve been to 45 countries – many solo, some with family/friends and some in tour groups. Some I’ve spent a month or two in and some I’ve just explored for a day. I’ve learnt that travel can take all sorts of forms. My aim is to travel to 100 countries – let’s go!
